Using the ancient art of Japanese\nShibori\, stude nts will experiment with mark making. Each student will\nexplore a myriad of folding and binding techniques while also learning how\nto mix their ow n dye colors. Experimentation is encouraged.
Janet\nStarr\, like ge neration of women in her family\, loves to sew and work with\ncloth. She f inds her inspiration from her wild country surroundings.\nSnow-covered mou ntains\, rivers\, meadows and limitless sky all influence her\nwork. The r esult of her process is often unexpected and spontaneous\, and\nserves as a jumping off point for the finished piece.
