In this\nintroductory bookbinding course students will learn the basic steps\nnecessary to build \, design\, and construct their own hardcover book.\nStudents will learn t he technique of Coptic bookbinding\, a non-toxic and\nadhesive free proces s which dates back to the 2nd Century AD in Egypt and\ncan be used to crea te personalized sketchbooks\, journals\, or book arts.
\nChad Seelig is an artist and educator who came to Idaho from New York\nCity. He recei ved his BFA in Printmaking from Pratt Institute and his MFA\nin Studio Art from the University of Massachusetts\, Amherst. He has worked\nfor museum s and galleries for the past 7 years\, most recently as the\nRegistrar/Col lections Manager for Alexander Gray Associates in New York. He\ncurrently lives in Twin Falls\, ID writing\, creating sounds\, and making\nartwork o ut of his backyard studio with his two dogs and two cats.
\nThis wor kshop takes place over two days\, Saturday &\; Sunday\, October\n29-30 from 12-4pm.
