What is art? In 2012, the Los Angeles County Museum of Art had 22 cities asking themselves that exact question as a 340 ton boulder made its way through Southern California neighborhoods to its destination – a 456-foot-long negative space where it rests above a concrete slot. The film documents this journey from idea to fruition and the questions it raised among the public, the arts community, public officials and cities.
