Summer Maker Space is an open studio for families to create, explore, and play together. Drop in anytime to experiment with hands-on art activities that blend creativity with the joys of being outside in the summer. From painting and printmaking to working with natural materials, each session invites participants of all ages to make at their own pace, follow their curiosity, and connect with art, nature, and community.
Sensory Paint Play
Dive into a full-body painting experience where movement, texture, and color come together. Use your hands, feet, and creative energy to explore mark-making on a large shared canvas. This playful, collaborative activity invites participants of all ages to experiment freely and express themselves through motion and paint.
Giant Cyanotypes
Create striking blue-and-white prints using the power of sunlight. Arrange leaves, flowers, and found objects on fabric or paper, then watch as your composition develops in the sun like magic. This hands-on process blends art and science, capturing the shapes of nature in beautiful, one-of-a-kind prints.
Earth Materials Lab
Discover the possibilities of creating with natural materials. Paint with handmade inks from walnuts and acorns, experiment with turmeric sun prints, and weave or build using sticks, wool, and found objects. This open-ended space encourages curiosity, creativity, and a deeper connection to the natural world.
