We believe the arts are essential.

A fundamental part of Sun Valley Museum of Art's mission is to work in partnership with local schools to inspire students’ curiosity and develop their skills in improvisation, self-expression and critical thinking. SVMoA's K–12 Arts Education Programs develop and strengthen these fundamental life skills helping to build engaged, curious, inspired and contributing citizens and communities.

Student Exhibition Tours

SVMoA offers students and teachers an exploration of the museum’s exhibitions. Students engage with the art work, the ideas in the exhibition and their peers through observation and discussion and create a hands-on art project linked to the exhibition.

Integrating the arts into secondary core subjects such as math, science and humanities by collaborating with teachers and students in a creative process, and providing the opportunity to approach a topic in a new way or deepen the discussion on a given subject.

Visiting Artists

Professional musicians, actors, dancers, authors and artists visit Blaine County Schools for performances, presentations, workshops and classes.

Student & Educator Scholarships

Each year SVMoA awards local students and educators scholarships to further their education in the arts and humanities through five different types of scholarships. This scholarship program is made possible through funds raised at SVMoA's Annual Wine Auction and private donations.

Working with the Schools FAQs

What grades can participate in the Student Exhibition Tour program?

Student Exhibition Tours are designed for students in Pre–K through 12th grade. Each tour is designed with grade appropriate discussion and hands on art experience.

How do I sign up to bring my class for a Student Exhibition Tour at The Museum?

Teachers are asked to sign up using the onlin form HERE. Please give us your top three preferences of times. We will do our best to accommodate you and you will receive a follow up email confirmation typically within a week of your request.

What grades can participate in our Classroom Enrichment Program?

The Classroom Enrichment Program is designed for public school students at the middle and high school grade levels. These grade levels were chosen because often due to scheduling, students are unable to participate the arts at the secondary level.
