Friends Thelma (Geena Davis) and Louise (Susan Sarandon) start off on a weekend trip to a cabin as an escape from their everyday lives, but the road trip takes a turn after an incident at a bar has them running from the law. This movie is a part of The Center’s Wish You Were Here exhibition – and exemplifies the American road trip. Thelma & Louise was the Oscar winner for Best Original Screenplay in 1992.
