Film Screening: Oscar Nominated Animated Shorts

For the third year in a row, The Center and the Magic Lantern present the Oscar nominated films in the category of animated shorts. This is a rare chance to see these films.

Me and My Moulton (Torill Kove) – 14 minutes/Canada/English. Three sisters growing up in an unconventional Norwegian family ask their parents for a bicycle.

Feast (Patrick Osborne and Kristina Reed) – 6 minutes/USA/Non-dialogue. The story of the relationship between a young man and the stray puppy he takes in is told through the food the dog receives.

The Bigger Picture (Daisy Jacobs and Christopher Hees) – 7 minutes/UK/English. Tensions arise between two brothers as their elderly mother requires more care.

A Single Life (Marieke Blaauw, Joris Oprins, Job Roggeveen) – 2 minutes/The Netherlands/Non-dialogue. A mysterious vinyl single gives a young woman the power to move back and forth through the years of her life.

The Dam Keeper (Robert Kondo and Dice Tsutsumi) – 18 minutes/USA/Non-dialogue. A lonely little pig in charge of maintaining the town dam is cruelly bullied by his classmates.
